Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday called for 'exemplary punishment' for those guilty in the alleged brutal rape and murder of a Dalit law student in Perumbavoor in Ernakulam district, Kerala.

Asserting that he felt 'sick' after hearing the horrific incidents, Kejriwal tweeted that "Give exemplary punishment to guilty. But we all need to work together to prevent such incidents."

A Dalit student was allegedly raped and murdered on April 28, according to the police and her body was found with several deep stab wounds.

The police also stated that the incident took place in broad daylight but none of the neighbours staying nearby intervened.
