Dame Helen Mirren has received the Standard award for her role in the stage play 'The Audience', where she played the Queen.
The veteran actress was presented the best actress award at the London Evening Standard Theatre Awards, the BBC reported.
Before receiving her award, Mirren said that she felt that the response to the play was as much a response to the Queen, an extraordinary woman, as it was to her performance.
Meanwhile, the best actor award was shared by Adrian Lester and Rory Kinnear, for their performances in National Theatre's production of Othello in which Lester appeared in the title role and Kinnear played Iago.
