Captain of the United States 2016 Ryder Cup team Davis Love III has revealed that former world number one Tiger Woods is expecting to make his way back into the American team for the biennial men's golf tournament.
Love, who was recently selected to lead the US team at the iconic team event at Hazeltine next year, has been in touch with Woods. He revealed that Woods is expecting to make the Ryder Cup team.
Love said that he and Woods keep in touch a lot more than they have, adding that the former world number one still has a good attitude and is working hard, Sport24 reported.
Love revealed that he spoke to a few people who tell him that Woods is working very hard and is eager to get back, adding that he believes he has a plan for The Masters and they are hoping to see the 14-time Major winner back soon.
Love said that currently it's the Ryder Cup they are talking about, adding that they have guys trying to make the Presidents Cup team against the International team in October and Woods is anxious about getting back to playing so that he can get some points for that and then he could think about Ryder Cup.
But, Love pointed out that he wouldn't count Woods out just yet.
Woods has had a tumultuous last few months, from taking a break, to returning and carding a worst ever eleven over par 82 at the Waste Management Phoenix Open, then lasting just 11 holes at the Farmers Insurance Open before withdrawing due to injury, the report added.
