'Deadpool 2' actress Zazie Beetz is in negotiation to join Joaquin Phoenix in 'Joker'. If a deal is settled, Beetz will play the role of a single mother who will end up becoming the love interest of Joker's character, reported The Hollywood Reporter.
Joaquin Phoenix will play the legendary supervillain in the upcoming 'Joker' origin story which will be helmed by Todd Phillips.
Set in the 'DC Cinematic Universe, the project is being described as a dark character study.
The project will be a stand-alone picture for the Batman nemesis 'Joker' with a budget of 55 million dollars and will be dark and experimental in the approach.
The Warner Bros. film is scheduled to release on October 4, 2019
Beets will also be seen in Fox Searchlight's upcoming Noah Hawley sci-fi drama, starring alongside Natalie Portman.
