'Despicable Me 2' was the most gifted home entertainment feature over Christmas 2013, according to reports.
According to the British Video Association and Official Charts Company, this was followed by 'Monsters University' in second, 'Breaking Bad' in third, 'Mrs Browns Boys' in fourth and 'Man of Steel' in fifth, Contactmusic reported.
The first family-friendly film, which was released in 2010, made 543 million dollars worldwide, but the 2013 sequel has grossed 935.8 million dollars worldwide since it opened last summer, gaining a cult following amongst children and adults alike.
Universal Pictures recently announced that fans will have to wait three years for the next instalment of the franchise with 'Despicable Me 3' scheduled for release on June 30, 2017.
Meanwhile, a 'Despicable Me' spin-off is already in the works called 'Minions'.
