Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni said he was pleased that the Boxing Day Test against Australia in Melbourne resulted in a draw, admitting that the match could have ended in a mess on the last day.
The Boxing Day Test ended in a draw after Australia posted a second innings total of 318-9 declared and held India to 174-6 at the draw of stumps on the final day of the Melbourne Test.
Dhoni said that he was quite happy with the draw as it could have ended in a mess on the last day. He further said that bowlers really bowled well especially in the second innings.
Praising Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane for their impressive performance, he said that it was a fantastic display as both of them looked to attack the bowling, and made sure they converted it to a big hundred.
India now face a dead rubber in the fourth and final Test in Sydney as Australia won the first and second Test with the Boxing Day Test ending in a draw.
