Argentina's star footballer Angel Di Maria has revealed the circumstances that led to his departure from his former club Manchester United just a year after joining it.
The 27-year-old winger said that his shift from the Old Trafford to his current club Paris Saint-Germain happened in the same way as the then manager of Real Madrid, Jose Mourinho, convinced him to join the club.
Di Maria said that he had received a phone call from PSG manager Laurent Blanc who convinced him to leave United, the Mirror reported.
The Argentine international revealed that Blanc wanted to recruit him for several season, insisting that the latter's proposal of joining PSG gave him an added incentive.
Di Maria, who joined United for a British record of 59.7million euros in 2014,left the Old Trafford club due to a dip in his form.
