A major accident prevented from happening on Wednesday when all coaches of 13009 Howrah-Dehradun Doon Express got separated from the engine at Khetasarai station of Jaunpur after the engine's clipping broke.
The coaches travelled almost a kilometre before they were stopped.
Another engine from Shahganj was later attached to the separated coaches of Doon Express and the train was departed thereafter.
The train passengers had to wait for hours after which they created huge ruckus in anger.
On August 19 fourteen coaches of the Puri-Haridwar Kalinga Utkal Express derailed at Khatauli near Muzaffarnagar in western Uttar Pradesh, killing over 23 people and injuring at least 200.
A few days later, on August 23, nine coaches of Delhi-bound Kaifiyat Express derailed in Auraiya district of Uttar Pradesh after colliding with a bumper which left nearly 40 people injured.
