Enid Blyton is set to be honoured with a commemorative plaque in Beaconsfield, England.

The author has lived there for 30 years and the Beaconsfield society had called for lasting recognition over a year ago, the BBC reported.

A society spokeswoman said that it was long overdue in honouring the world famous children's author.

Mayor Sandy Saunders confirmed that the council had commissioned and paid for the plaque to be made and was completely supportive of it saying that Blyton was a tremendous character in the town.
