Eros Now, the Indian OTT platform owned by Eros International has signed a content licensing deal with China's largest online video streaming service iQiyi.
With this deal, according to a statement given by Eros, the Bollywood and regional language entertainment network has become the first South Asian OTT player to make inroads into the Chinese digital space, Variety reported.
Indian films have seen huge popularity in Chinese theatres. Films like 'Dangal', 'Secret Superstar', and 'Hindi Medium' were a huge hit in the country.
Till the end of 2017, iQiyi had about 500 million monthly active users and 126 million daily active users, consuming the content via their mobile phones.
