The Samajwadi Party and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday were seen indulging in war of words over the security condition in the state, most particularly the State Assembly.
It comes in the backdrop of a suspicious white powder being found in the UP Assembly yesterday during an ongoing session.
Where on the one hand, the Samajwadi Party questioned the deteriorating law and order situation of the country, the BJP, on the other hand, assured that no such attempts of weakening the security would be successful.
"Security is a serious issue. Yesterday, even the Speaker expressed concern over the same. Whatever is to be done, will be done. Terrorists want to spread their nexus all across the nation, but they won't get the access to Uttar Pradesh or its Assembly," UP minister Sidharth Nath Singh told ANI.
Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party leader Rajendra Chaudhary said one can imagine the situation of the state if such a suspicious thing has been found in the assembly.
"Every day, some or the other crime takes place. The women in the state are not safe. The law and order situation lacks order," Chaudhary told ANI.
60 grams of suspicious white powder was found in the assembly during ongoing session yesterday, which was later sent to forensic lab for testing.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has called for a high-level meet over the same.
