Fans express fury as Channel 4 buys 'The Great British Bake Off'

Expressing disappointment over BBC's move to sell one of its most beloved TV show, 'The Great British Bake Off', the fans have said the "greedy disloyal" programme makers have no respect for the people.

The fans have hit out after it was revealed that the show is to move to Channel 4, which reportedly paid 75 million pounds for rights to the show in 2017, after the BBC admitted that it could no longer afford to keep it, reports the Daily Mail.

'Love Productions', the company behind the show, announced that BBC could no longer retain the broadcasting rights or renew the commission of the baking show after seven series.

Turns out, the fans of the show were more disappointed at the news than the staff at Love Productions as several prominent people, including Lord Prescott, vent their ire on the social media.

Former Deputy PM of the United Kingdom Lord Prescott wrote, "I predict Bake Off moving to Channel 4 will be the ultimate showstopper. Wish they'd stayed with the Beeb."

Media personality, Lord Alan Sugar, who also appears in the annually broadcasted BBC TV series 'The Apprentice' since 2005, on his part lashed out at the "greedy disloyal" owner for selling the hit show.

"I feel sorry for @BBCOne they invested years in making Bake Off popular and the greedy disloyal format owner has sold it to Ch4," he tweeted.

"We are not pleased at all ruining a good show with adverts.," a Bake Off fan expressed in reply to Channel 4's tweet announcing its welcome to the newly owned show.

"Can you break the rules and make it ad free please? Or at least don't do a 'coming up' and recap before and after each ad break," another tweeted to the channel.

Channel 4 will air its first 'The Great British Bake Off' programme in 2017.
