Australian spin bowler Fawad Ahmed is reportedly not expected to be added to the Test squad for the second Ashes Test in Adelaide.
Although the selectors reserved the right to add a bowler to the squad once they had assessed the conditions at Adelaide Oval, however, if a second spinner is to be placed on standby, it is unlikely to be Ahmed, who will instead be named in the domestic Victorian squad to play South Australia at the MCG.
According to the Sydney Morning Herald, however, the selectors are said to be happy with Ahmed's progress since he fell out of contention for the series opener, after a poor performance against a full-strength NSW earlier this month.
The second Test will be played at an incomplete Adelaide Oval, as it undergoes a 535-dollar million redevelopment with the ground being transformed into a 50,000 capacity stadium, although capacity for the Test starting will be about 35,000, the report added.
