In a fresh development in journalist Rajdeo Ranjan's murder case, the Bihar Police today arrested five people.

Earlier on May 14, four suspects were detained in connection with the case.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had earlier given his consent for a CBI probe in the murder case.

Director General of Police (DGP) P.K. Thakur, however, said on May 16 that the state police would continue its investigation till the top investigating agency takes up the case.

42-year-old Ranjan was allegedly shot dead by criminals near the Siwan railway station on May 13.

Two bullets were fired at the Siwan bureau chief of Hindi daily Hindustan that hit him on his head and neck.
