At least six people have been rescued while nine others are still trapped in flash floods that hit Jammu and Kashmir's Kulgam district on Wednesday.
"We have called for three rubber boats with the help of which we rescued six people and nine are still trapped, in the meantime we have requested the Director General (DG) and given a requisition for the chopper also," said a rescue official while confirming the report.
"It seems that we will successfully rescue the others within half an hour to 45 minutes. These are all trained officials, six people have returned in one boat and we are about to send two more boats," he added.
The local villagers here have been evacuated as the flood water has also entered the residential areas.
The rescue operations are still on.
