Four engineers have drowned after being swept away by a high tide at Suvali Beach near Surat.
All four were working with the construction company Larsen and Toubro (L and T).
Officials identified the four engineers as Manoj Sharma, Sagar, Sandeep Kumar and Yogendra Kumar.
Their car driver, Amit Tiwari, was rescued by some people.
Officials said the four engineers had left their hotel in Hajira for a Sunday fun trip to the beach and added that they had been warned by the people at the beach about the high tide, but still ventured into the danger zone, only to be swept away.
A search has been launched to locate the bodies of the engineers.
