Fresh snowfall in Kashmir, Shimla brings cheer for locals

An unexpected spell of snowfall in Srinagar and Shimla on Monday brought cheer to the locals.

The residents hailed the bout of snowfall as a solution to crop, power and water problems.

"Snowfall is good for us and the landlords. It is a solution to many problems like crop, power and water," said a resident of Srinagar.

"We were facing illnesses like cough, running nose. Swine flu had also increased and by God's grace this will be a solution to it," he added.

Locals, hoteliers and businessmen are also likely to benefit as the snowfall will boost tourism in the region.
