Her character gave birth to an evil "shadow baby" in the HBO's smash hit 'Game of Thrones' and now that Carice van Houten is pregnant in real life, she is ready for "shadow baby" jokes.
It has been confirmed that the 39-year-old actress and her boyfriend Guy Pearce are expecting their first child, E! Online reported.
'Yes, it's true,' the 'Black Book' star posted on Instagram, along with a baby emoji to confirm the pregnancy news, before cheekily adding, "Let the shadow baby jokes begin."
Houten will reprise her role of the priestess Melisandre, aka The Red Woman, on the 'Game of Thrones' season six, which is all set to hit screens on April 24.
