Goalpara Superintendent of Police (SP) Nitul Gogoi said here on Wednesday that rebels affiliated to the United Liberation Front of Assam (ULFA) could be responsible for the Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blast in the district this morning in which one person was killed and three others were injured.
"ULFA might be responsible for today's blast; yesterday also we held a campaign against them and caught many of their members," said Gogoi.
The blast happened near the Krishnai Police Station at 8 a.m. this morning.
The dead person has been identified as Rehman. The three injured have been identified as Akhtar Hussain, Kashimuddin and Jehrul Islam respectively, out of whom one is a kid.
