Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday confirmed the arrest of India's wanted gangster Rajendra Sadashiv Nikalje alias Chhota Rajan in Bali and said that further investigation would be done after the verification process is over.
"We have been informed about the arrest of Chhota Rajan in Bali, Indonesia. The Government of India will do the necessary investigation once the verification process is over. I would like to thank the Interpol and the Indonesian Government," Singh told the media here.
Rajan was arrested from a resort in Bali by Indonesian Police on Sunday.
According to reports, the Indonesian authorities detained Rajan acting on a tip-off from the Australian Police on Sunday as he arrived in the popular resort island of Bali from Sydney.

He later operated at the behest of Dawood in Mumbai and eventually fled India in 1988.
