Haripur molestation: 2-day remand for suspects

A Pakistan court on Wednesday granted the police a two-day physical remand of five alleged molesters of a 15-year-old boy.

The five suspects include a policeman and two sons of a local councillor.

On Tuesday, the uncle of the 15-year-old boy had lodged an FIR against the policeman and his two accomplices after the victim had narrated the ordeal to the family, the Dawn reported.

According to the FIR, the suspects took the boy to a rented room on Dhenda Road in Haripur city and allegedly molested and assaulted him.

The suspects threatened the boy to not tell anyone about the incident else the video clips would be uploaded to the social media.

The police arrested all the five suspects on Monday and had produced them before the court of Judicial Magistrate Aftab Khan.

They will be questioned by the investigation staff over the next two days.

According to Haripur District Police Officer (DPO) Syed Khalid Hamdani, the policeman of Elite Force has been suspended.

He said that the suspect would be expelled if the court convicted him.
