'Hunger Games: Mockingjay' director says didn't use CGI to complete Hoffman's part

The director of upcoming two-part film 'The Hunger Games

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Francis Lawrence called the decision easy, adding that Hoffman was one of the best actors of all time.

He said that he thinks to try to fake a Philip Seymour Hoffman performance would have been catastrophic and I would never want to do that.

Hoffman had two scenes with dialogue left to shoot for the films when he died in February, leaving director and the team not only to grieve, but also to figure out how to best move forward with the project.
