ABC News anchor Elizabeth Vargas has admitted that she's an alcoholic and it took her a long time to admit that to herself and to her family.
Vargas opened up about her recent stay in rehab for alcoholism on 'Good Morning America', saying that keeping her addiction hidden from view was "exhausting," the New York Post reported.
Shedding light on her addiction, the 51-year-old journalist explained that she suffered panic attacks as a child, which continued into adulthood.
Vargas added that she dealt with the stress that came with the anxiety by drinking, and it slowly escalated and got worse and worse.
