Advait Chandan, who has been associated with Aamir Khan for a long time now, feels blessed to have worked with Aamir Khan Productions.

He had been an assistant to Filmmaker Kiran Rao and also worked as a Production Assistant for 'Taare Zameen Par' and as the first Assistant Director for 'Dhobi Ghat'.

He also went on to be Aamir Khan's Manager. He will be making his debut as a Director with 'Secret Superstar'.

On the occasion of Teacher's Day, Advait Chandan expressed his thoughts about his mentor, Aamir Khan, and the various avenues that the production house provided. He shared, "I'm blessed at many levels. One that I got to work with AKP on films like, 'Taare Zameen Par' and 'Dhobi Ghat'. Then, I got to work with Aamir Sir as his manager. When I narrated the script and he (Aamir Khan) liked it, that itself was unbelievable to me, then he went on and acted in it as well. Frankly, right now I'm not really believing it. I feel like I'm in a dream right now."

'Secret Superstar' is Aamir Khan Productions' eighth film after delivering blockbuster films like 'Lagaan', 'Taare Zameen Par', 'Dangal' to name a few.

'Secret Superstar' is a film essentially based on music with the lead protagonist Insia played by Zaira Wasim being an aspiring singer. The young girl faces resistance from her father after which she opts to follow her dreams by posting videos on social media anonymously.

The debutante director will be seen directing his mentor Aamir in 'Secret Superstar' as the actor plays music composer Shakti Kumar.

Aamir Khan Productions has been one of the most successful production houses in the country as in its 16-year-old tenure; the banner has launched numerous talents.

Aamir, along with Aamir Khan Productions, has mentored many young talents that bloomed into stars including Darsheel Safary, Zaira Wasim, and Advait Chandan among others.

'Secret Superstar' is written and directed by Advait Chandan. The film is slated to release on 19th October 2017.
