The Imran Khan-led Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) party has been given permission by the Islamabad administration to hold a sit-in on the Kashmir Highway near Aabpara Chowk.

Islamabad Additional Deputy Commissioner Abdul Sattar told the Dawn newspaper that the PTI had submitted an application to the administration on Thursday, asking for the allocation of Kashmir Highway as the venue for the PTI demonstration in the capital.

The PTI sit-in will be held between Aabpara and Zero Point.

Meanwhile, an Interior Ministry advisory has said there was a threat of terrorism looming over the long march, and in light of it, stringent security measures have been put in place, including 25 security cameras, each having a range of 220 square yards.

Policemen have been deployed on hilltops between the two cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi to ensure that Imran Khan is protected at all times. He will also be surrounded by 60 security personnel.

The PTI chairman will be traveling in a bullet and bomb-proof container vehicle.
