When the world is going gaga over X-men, Ironman, Superman and Bat-man and India is trying to have its own in form of 'Krishh' and 'Flying Jatt,' ace filmmaker Zoya Akhtar feels that the nation has its own superheroes in its mythologies, adding films based on them will have a bigger audience on the global platform.

"If we dig into our own history, we have made films on our own superheroes. Our mythology is rich with stories. If we do that, I really think it would serve us really better. More people would be watching it. I think globally more people would watch it. I think it will immediately have a bigger audience," she told media at an event here yesterday.

"We have our own superheroes. We have grown up with Amar-Chitrakatha which can give you a lot of superheroes," she added.

Futher when Zoya was quizzed about the huge budgets for the superhero and comic movies in the West, she said that the global reach and the revenues earned allow the filmmakers to make the films on a bigger scale.

"Hollywood has a larger world market, have much more global market. Their films have travelled to various more countries, so obviously their revenue is bigger. Hence it allows them to make the films on a bigger scale," she explained.
