India and Oman on Monday acknowledged the common threat posed by terrorism to peace and security and agreed to continue working together bilaterally, regionally and globally to counter the menace.
The two sides exchanged views on regional and international issues of common interest, including the current security situation in West Asia, Middle East and South Asia.
Both countries emphasised upon the need to isolate the sponsors and supporters of terrorism and agreed that the international community should take urgent action against all such entities, which support terrorism and use it as an instrument of policy, a joint statement was issued after Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Oman.
Also, the two sides agreed to coordinate efforts to counter extremism, radicalisation and misuse of religion by groups and countries for inciting hatred and perpetrating acts of terrorism.
India and Oman underlined the importance of coordinated efforts to disrupt terrorist networks, their financing and movement, in accordance with the relevant principles and purposes of the United Nations' Charter and international laws.
