The second ODI between India and New Zealand will today be played at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium here. With host team up 1-0 in the five-match ODI series, skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni and his men would like to reassert themselves in order to further consolidate their lead.
The big news from Indian side is the unavailability of the experienced Suresh Raina, who last played an ODI a year back. One of India's vital cog in limited-overs cricket, Raina lost form after the ICC World Cup 2015 and that saw him lose his place in the side after the South Africa series.
Raina is yet to recover from the bout of viral fever that kept him away from the first ODI which India won comfortably by six wickets.
While Kane Williamson's 'Black Caps' is struggling to stay afloat in the series, India's 'Captain Cool' is fighting a different battle to remain the 'supreme' commander' of the Men in Blue.
A 3-0 Test series victory after Test skipper Virat Kohli led India to the number one ranking has set a benchmark, and now Dhoni would like to ideally win the series 5-0 against the Kiwis.
