A precocious middle school going teenager from East Bay has breezed through the SAT exam in Unites States.
Varun Jain got a perfect 2400 score on the trio of tests that make up the SATs- the exam that leaves hundreds of high schoolers across the nation cringing, the ABC News reported.
Vivek Jain- father of Varun- told the publication that if anybody in the United States can get a perfect score in middle school, it has to be his son.
Only 360 students did it in 2012 out of more than 1.6 million high school students, who took the tests that year.
Varun was in eighth grade when he took the tests and he will be a high school freshman this fall.
The teenager, who did not stress over the test, started preparing for the math, writing and critical thinking segments after his father reminded him the night before that he was to take the exam the following morning.
Just a few days before the SAT was administered, Varun took the AP Calculus BC exam- a course usually offered to the most mathematically advanced high school seniors- and he took the course online in a month.
He is also the highest scoring point guard for his school, and has won a scholarship from John's Hopkins University to take classes at a community college.
He plays the sitar and the violin and has trophies for chess and debate.
According to Vivek, his son wants to do something technology related that improves peace in the world and makes everyone thrive.
Varun looks forward to join either Harvard or MIT after he graduates early.
