Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray on Tuesday took a jibe at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over its ongoing demand regarding the construction of Ram Temple in Ayodhya and asked whether the BJP's promise was a 'jumla' (false claims).
"Just like Rs 15 lakh in everyone's account, is Ram Mandir also a jumla? When we are taking up this issue, we aim to ensure that Ram Mandir is actually built," Thackeray said here.
He further questioned why discussion over Ayodhya land dispute take place only during the time of elections.
"This issue comes up only during the elections and once elections are over, it is forgotten," he said.
Thackeray on October 18 announced that he would visit Ayodhya on November 25. On October 29, the Supreme Court had adjourned the hearing of the Ayodhya title suit case until January 2019.
