A complete shutdown is being observed across the Kashmir valley on Saturday on the call of Hurriyat hardliner Syed Ali Shah Geelani.

Geelani has called the bandh over the killing of a youth from Tral in Pulwama and the arrest of Hurriyat leaders, including separatist Masarat Alam.

All shops, businesses, government offices, schools and other establishments are closed and public transport is off the roads.

The authorities have deployed police and CRPF jawans to stop any type of protest.
