Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and five other Aam Aadmi Party members on Wednesday were summoned by a Delhi court in connection with a defamation case filed by Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley.
"The court has asked all the six accused, including Arvind Kejriwal, Kumar Viswas, Raghav Chadha, Sanjay Singh, Ashutosh and Deepak Bajpai, to be present on April 7 for the offence of defamation with common intention. They have to be present before the court on April 7 at 2:30 pm," Jaitley's lawyer Sidhharth Luthra told ANI.
Jaitley had in December last filed a civil and a criminal defamation cases against the six accused, seeking Rs. 10 crores as damages, while their prosecution for the offence entails a punishment up to two years of jail.
