Tamil Nadu Chief Minster and All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) chief Jayalalithaa met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his South Block office here today.
The Tamil Nadu chief minister discussed Cauvery issue with Modi and has not ruled out issue based support to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
"I stressed on the need to expedite formation of supervisory committee for Mullaperiyar Dam as ordered by the Supreme Court and the prime minister has promised that action will be taken on the issue within a week," said Jayalalithaa.
This is the first meeting of Jayalaithaa with Modi after he was sworn in as the 15th prime minster of India.
Jayalalithaa had boycotted the swearing-in of Modi on May 26, opposing participation of Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa in the ceremony.
