Jesse Eisenberg set to play Lex Luther in 'Batman vs Superman'

Jesse Eisenberg will be playing Lex Luther in the upcoming film 'Batman vs Superman', while Jeremy Irons has been cast in the role of Alfred, the butler, it has been revealed.

According to the Warner Bros' announcement, both Eisenberg and Irons have joined the cast that includes Henry Cavill as Superman and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Metro.co.uk reported.

Director Zack Snyder said that Lex Luthor is often considered the most notorious of Superman's rival and having 'The Social Network' star play the role will allow them to explore the villain's dynamism while taking the character in some new and unexpected directions.
