Jharkhand: CBI arrests senior railway officer for bribery

The Central Bureau of Investigation on Wednesday arrested the Senior Section Engineer (TL&AC), from Jharkhand's Hatia for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs. 3.44 lakh from the complainant.

The CBI laid a trap against the Section Engineer, South Eastern Railway, and caught the accused red handed while demanding and accepting the alleged bribe.

The CBI has registered a case against the arrested under section 7 of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 for demanding an illegal gratification of Rs. 3, 44,000 from the complainant in order to clear the pending bills and to get the Measurement Book signed by ADEE.

The accused was also produced earlier today before the Special Judge, CBI Cases, Ranchi.
