Jimi Hendrix's former girlfriend Kathy Etchingham has blasted the biopic, 'All Is By My Side,' on the musician for her "defamatory" portrayal.
Etchingham recently told a friend that the John Ridley written and directed film shows her as a "lowlife groupie" who has been prescribed sleeping pills and painkillers, the New York Post reported.
She said that there was nothing she could do about her portrayal.
Etchingham, who had met Hendrix before he hit stardom, also added that the film also showed them "attacking" each other, and said that the guitarist was "gentle and fun and never violent."
The movie is anticipated to release in September 2014.
