Jimmy Kimmel, who was recently named the host for the 2017 Oscars, revealed that he forgot to tell two very important people, his parents about the news.
The 49-year-old host revealed to Entertainment Tonight that informing his mom and dad prior to telling the public about the gig slipped his mind.
"I forgot to tell my parents, and then they found out online. So, that's probably the best feedback I got," Kimmel said.
The 'The Jimmy Kimmel Live!' host announced, on his Twitter account, that he will be taking the reins to host the '89th Academy Awards' on February 26, 2017.
"Yes, I am hosting the Oscars. This is not a prank. And if it is, my revenge on @TheAcademy will be terrible & sweet," he tweeted.
The event will take place at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles and will broadcast live on ABC.
