Singer-songwriter John Legend at New York City's Global Citizen festival lambasted the Senate in regards to the events surrounding US Supreme Court Judge nominee Brett Kavanaugh and professor Christine Blasey Ford, who accused the former of assaulting her.
According to Deadline, right before performing his upcoming song 'Preach', Legend called out for the audience's attention to how Senators treat "women who come forward with sexual abuse claims".
He indirectly referred to the US senate judiciary committee who have planned to vote Kavanaugh for the post of a Supreme Court Judge after he outrightly denied Professor Christine Blasey Ford's assault charges.
The 39-year-old took home his first Emmy at the 2018 Creative Arts Emmys for his role as a producer of 'Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert', which won outstanding live variety special at the ceremony.
The 'All of Me' hitmaker has 10 Grammy Awards to his kitty. In 2015, he won the Oscar for Best Original Song for 'Glory,' which was featured in the movie 'Selma'.
Legend took home a Tony Award in 2017 as the co-producer of 'Jitney', which won for Best Revival of a Play.
