Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) MP K. Kavitha on Monday urged the Centre to rollback the Contributory Pension Scheme and go back to the age old pension scheme where the pension of an employee after he retires is assured and guaranteed.

The Nizamabad lawmaker said the employees of almost 27 states of this country today are on the agitation mode and are demanding for a rollback of this scheme.

"Across the country in almost 27 states, there is a huge issue boiling among the employees. The pension scheme existing that was existing in this country has been removed and a Contributory Pension Scheme has been approved for all the employees of this country which apparently is of no use to the employees," Kavitha told ANI.

" So, I request the Central Government to kindly consider a rollback of the CPS and go back to the age old pension scheme where the pension of an employee after he retires is assured and is guaranteed which will secure his future," she added.
