Kanye West, who has been named felony suspect in a paparazzi attack, could be charged with 'attempted robbery,' as the case has been transferred to a robbery unit.
The 36-year-old rapper had tried taking a photographer's camera while leaving Los Angeles International Airport, on Friday.
Authorities alleged that West committed an attempted robbery when he accosted the photographer known as Dano, the New York Daily News reported.
The confrontation left the paparazzo injured, but the more serious charge brought against him will be for the costly equipment.
According to TMZ, Dano is apparently the same photographer who closely followed Britney Spears in 2007, which resulted in the singer attacking his SUV with an umbrella.
