Kanye West's 'Ye' tops Billboard chart

Hollywood rapper Kanye West's new album 'Ye' topped the Billboard 200 chart this week in light of his tweets heaping praises on United States President Donald Trump.

West's latest chart-topper marks his eighth No. 1 album. He now ties with Eminem for the second-most No. 1 albums among hip-hop artists, reported Fox News.

The 'Yikes' rapper tweeted his support to Trump and even flaunted his 'Make America Great Again' cap on Twitter, in late April.

The 40-year-old rapper even called Trump his 'brother'.

President Trump had thanked him at the time too, and quoted his tweet to say, "Thank you Kanye, very cool!"

The 40-year-old-rapper's viral tweets, who has 21 Grammy Awards to his name, made headlines in the entertainment industry in a very short time.

Lately, West sparked outrage over social media after he said that the enslavement of African Americans over centuries may have been "a choice."

The statement didn't go well with artists and fans prompting them to say they were going to boycott the album.
