Kathy Griffin is trending for all the wrong, rather gory reasons.
Her latest stunt, a photo with a bloodied replica of U.S President Donald Trump's decapitated head, faced swift backlash on social media.
The comedian, on her Twitter handle uploaded a clip recently, which sees a tough-faced Griffin gazing forward as she lifts up the blood-splattered, beheaded Trump dummy, by its trademark blonde hair.
Without any regret for doing so, the 56-year-old comedian wrote, "1/ I caption this "there was blood coming out of his eyes, blood coming out of his...wherever" Also @tylershields great Photog/film maker."
Adding, "2/ OBVIOUSLY, I do not condone ANY violence by my fans or others to anyone, ever! I'm merely mocking the Mocker in Chief."
The story does not end here. After much protest against such picture, the U.S. Secret Service got involved in this to take proper action.
"On it! @SecretService has a robust protective intelligence division that monitors open source reporting & social media to evaluate threats" they tweeted.
Adding, "Threats made against @SecretService protectees receive the highest priority of all of our investigations. #ProtectionNeverRests"
Reacting the whole incident Donald Trump Jr. tweeted, "Disgusting but not surprising. This is the left today. They consider this acceptable. Imagine a conservative did this to Obama as POTUS?"
Chelsea Clinton, the daughter of Trump's opponent in the 2016 election Hillary Clinton, also condemned the image, snapped by professional shutterbug Tyler Shields, saying, "This is vile and wrong. It is never funny to joke about killing a president.
