Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Shazia Ilmi on Saturday backed Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Prashant Bhushan and said all the allegations put by party chief Arvind Kejriwal on him and Yogendra Yadav of working against the party were totally baseless and condemnable.

The letter from Prashant Bhushan clearly signifies they would have done all this earlier as well, if they wanted to. This proves that all the allegations by Arvind Kejriwal that they wanted to ruin the party were totally baseless and condemnable," Ilmi told ANI.

"Because I know Prashantji, Yogendra, and Arvind Kejriwal so well that sometimes I feel Prashant has written his heart out in his letter. All his talks are absolutely correct. We can see a completely different kind of thought process coming from Arvind Kejriwal who has been claiming to weave a unusual kind of politics," she added.

Bhushan, who was dropped from the AAP's national executive along with Yogendra Yadav last month, has written an open letter to Kejriwal, warning him that the dream of clean and principled politics could well turn into a 'nightmare'.

Bhushan said Kejriwal had attacked him, Yadav and his father Shanti Bhushan in the national council meeting instead of giving a review of the party's performance and the situation it was in at present.

He also accused Kejriwal of ordering the release of a carefully edited version of his speech in the national council meeting, containing various falsehoods and carefully editing out the portions showing the hooliganism of the mob.

Bhushan and Yadav were expelled from the AAP 's national executive on March 28 for anti-party activities.
