American singer and songwriter Kelly Clarkson will join the voice cast of STXfilms' 'UglyDolls'
She will voice the character of Moxy and perform original songs.
"Kelly Clarkson has been a role model to millions of fans since the beginning of her momentous career. We are beyond thrilled that for her next project she chose to do UglyDolls after she saw our character designs, animatics and set pieces, which she loved. We look forward to collaborating with an artist of Kelly's exceptional talent and versatility," the Hollywood Reporter quoted the statement of STXfilms chairman.
The film, also including Pitbull among its voice cast, will be directed by Kelly Asbury and is based on the plush toy line by David Horvath and Sun-Min Kim.
The report also quoted the singer's comment where she expressed that the film's universal message celebrating differences and individuality resonates with her and that when STX showed her how incredible UglyDolls would look and feel.
On a related note, the singer is returning to the judging panel on the 15th season of "The Voice".
