The Kenyan military's Twitter account was reportedly breached by hackers claiming to be from the international activist collective Anonymous.
According to News 24, military spokesperson Colonel Willy Wesonga said that no internal military systems were infiltrated when the Kenya Defence Forces' Twitter account was hacked early on Monday.
He said that military technicians were working on procuring details of those involved in the cyber attack on the account that is used to provide information to the public.
The hackers posted from the hacked military Twitter feed saying that "The #Kenya Ministry of Defence is under new management: #Anonymous. "
Meanwhile, Wesonga said that another account run by a military liaison officer, Major Emmanuel Chirchir, was also hacked.
