KPIT to foster technology innovation in Engineering Colleges with 'Sparkle 2015'

KPIT, a global technology company specializing in product engineering and IT consulting ON Monday kicked off 'Sparkle 2015'- a design and development innovation contest in association with Pune's College of Engineering.

Through this contest, KPIT seeks to foster a culture of innovation among engineering students by inviting their ideas and viable business plans around the theme 'Towards Better Mobility and Energy'.

The contest is open to all engineering students where the participants, through individual or team projects, will submit their innovative solutions for real world problems, and compete to win prizes worth Rs 20,00,000 and nationwide recognition.

"Engineering students in India are bustling with new ideas to solve problems with widespread implications. We want these students to invest their time and efforts to design and develop solutions that can deliver bigger impact, at significantly lower costs to impact large number of lives. Two areas that influence most number of people globally are mobility and energy," said Ravi Pandit, Co-founder, Chairman and Group CEO, KPIT.

"Therefore, Sparkle 2015 will focus on these two areas and winners will be selected from the entries that endeavor to provide game-changing solutions to problems in these areas." He further added, "Innovation is a way of life at KPIT and we would like to contribute toward building an innovative society by building scientific and technology acumen among students and young professionals," he added.

Dr. Anil Sahasrabudhe, Director, College of Engineering, Pune, expressed his delight to team up with KPIT for Sparkle 2015.

"It is a pleasure for us to collaborate with KPIT for Sparkle 2015, a contest in which thousands of engineering students are given the chance to make an impact with practical solutions that can address real world problems, and share their ideas with a panel of judges who are experts in the field of mobility and energy," he said.

The last date of submission for the prequalification round is October 13.
