Ladakh, the land of high passes is gearing up for Tibetan spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama's sermons on Lord Buddha's 'Kalachakra'.
The Dalai Lama will confer 33 Kalachakra initiations from July 3 to July 14, while Buddhists from across the globe will come attend the special prayer sessions.
Preparations for the event are in full swing and the government has provided around Rs. 8 to 9 Crore to organize the sermon.
"Kalachakra is ultimate sermon by his holiness. So, it is a big international event. So, we are preparing for this event for the last one year, almost one year. The government, the Ladakh autonomous skill development council, state government, administration and all the well-wishers are helping us to prepare for this," said Tsewang Namgyal, a member of Ladakh Buddhist Association, organizing committee.
Kalachakra is the most scared teaching and practice of Buddhism for individual peace, mutual understanding, greater unity and happiness.
"It's a very important to all the people. So, Kalachakra is for world peace and our aim is to pray; Kalachakra signifies world peace," said a Buddhist monk, Lobsang Damchos.

Over 150,000 devotees and tourists from India and countries like Thailand, Vietnam, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Bhutan, China, Japan, Sri Lanka and Nepal are expected to be present for the Kalachakra initiations. (ANI)
