Incessant rains followed by a landslide has resulted in the blocking of the Doda-Kishtwar Highway in Jammu and Kashmir.
The highway was closed to vehicular traffic after landslip damaged large stretches of the road yesterday. This resulted in massive jams as several vehicles were stranded.

"The massive landslide has blocked Doda-Kishtwar road. Trees along with mud and boulders have blocked the way. The work to clear the road has been started. We hope to restore the traffic soon," said Revenue Administrative Officer Srinath Suman.
The state has been experiencing heavy rainfall and snowfall since the last few days, leading to landslides at several places.
The unseasonal rains with strong winds have been forcing people to stay indoors. The temperature has come down several notches because of the incessant downpour.
