Bollywood stars Jacqueline Fernandez and Aditya Roy Kapur gave Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2017 a grand closing as they turned showstoppers for ace designer Manish Malhotra.
A glass ramp and hundreds of glass strips hung from the ceiling to set the mood as Manish unveiled his 'Tales of Indulgence' to the audience and gave them the opportunity to experience his intense, extravagant, display as he launched his bespoke men's wear and women's seductive cocktail and festive bonanza.
Manish Malhotra said, "This July, the Manish Malhotra label completed 12 years. As we began a new chapter heralded by expansion and diversity in design, my Closing Show at Lakme Fashion Week had for the very first-time presented bespoke suits for men.'
Adding, "After a successful menswear show at Lakme Fashion Week a few seasons ago, the new collection was a step forward through a renewed focus on the segment. The suits have been created using varied textiles and textures with a touch of glamour and spans eveningwear, club-wear, festive and occasion-wear. With this collection, we will also introduce a bespoke tailoring service at our stores in New Delhi and Mumbai."
The 'Ok Jaanu' star, who turned showstopper for the renowned designer for the third time, donned a black, velvet one-button jacket with a contrast black embroidered lapels.
"It is the third time I am walking for Manish and it's always great. What is different this time is that for the first time I am wearing a suit, otherwise he has always dressed me in Indian wear," Aditya said.
Following him on ramp was the gorgeous Jacqueline, who looked sensational in a long-sleeved, embroidered, net floor-skimming creation, over micro shorts, which showed off an intensely fantastic beaded back and black tulle stole.
The 'Dishoom' star, on the other hand, turned his muse for the fourth time.
"It is a pleasure to walk for Manish. He has been so humble and kind always. He is great person by heart and I love collaborating with him always," she said.
An array of Bollywood stars including Sridevi, who came along with her younger daughter Khushi, Karan Johar, Shabana Azmi, Sushant Singh Rajput, Tiger Shroff, Karisma Kapoor cheered for their favourite designer from the front row.
