LinkedIn users have reportedly complained that the company's "people you may know" section listed contacts, who were not even there on the site.
The professional network site uses a tool which makes it look as if the person is an active LinkedIn member and also has the option of "add to network"
But, instead of linking two existing accounts, hitting the add button dispatches an email asking your selected contact to create a LinkedIn account, the Verge reported.
Meanwhile, users have taken to LinkedIn's forums seeking answers for its actions.
